Why work for Kanthal as a Sales Manager? We asked Jon Hartmayer, who is heading up Sales Area NAFTA for Heating Systems, about his reasons. The opportunity to be part of a company managed by people who knows the business, says Jon.
Joining Kanthal in 2015, Jon Hartmeyer has had a solid career within sales. He spent his first years out of college working in the automotive industry, then moved on to the industrial segment which included fourteen years as Sales Director at a manufacturer of vacuum pumps and positive displacement blowers. After having gone through four different managers in five years, Jon was on the lookout for a company who was managed by people who knew the business, and not based their decisions on a spreadsheet.
“The three guys who I interviewed with had all been with Kanthal for +15 years, and that energized me”, Jon explains.
It is a decision he has not regretted. Being a people person, one of the things Jon appreciates the most by working in sales is meeting with others. Another professional highlight is watching employees he has managed thrive and develop. That is what he ranks the highest, in addition to some big money deals achieved.
With 27 years as a salesperson, Jon knows how to keep ambition and energy levels up.

However, he can picture himself moving into other areas than sales, leveraging his extensive experience to support our company.
Outside of the job, Jon spends time with his family. The family is very active and likes working out at the gym, bodybuilding and going out on their boat on the nearby lake.
The fact that Kanthal promotes work life balance is another thing that attracted Jon to the company.
“That is something that separates Kanthal from other companies. I am proud to work for a company that favors that balance”.
