Typische Anwendungen für 38-7 schließen die Verwendung als hochbeständiges Band oder als Niedrigexpansionsbestandteil in Bimetall-Thermostaten mit ein, beispielsweise in Gas- und Elektroherden. Durch die geringe thermische Ausdehnung ist es auch als strukturelles Material einsetzbar, zum Beispiel in Anwendungen bei welchen eine niedrige Temperatursensitivität erforderlich ist, wie als Rahmen für Messsysteme oder für Teile in mechanischen Uhren.
